DOOGNA (Sunthi Churna)

Key Ingredient:  Sunthi (Dry Ginger

Effect on Dosha: V-, K-, P+.      Vipak: Sweet      Energy: Warming/ Drying

Action: Stimulant, anti-depressant, expectorant, analgesic, carminative, antioxidant, antiseptic, anti-spasmodic, laxative, tonic.

Indication:  cold, flu, indigestion, Vomiting, abdominal pain, arthritis, headaches, impotence, diarrhoea, asthama, respiratory track.

Usage: Tea, cooking (for doogna sunthi churan) massage & compress (Clean Boond ginger drops).

Caution: Avoid use if one has inflammatory skin diseases, high fever, bleeding or ulcers are present. Consult a gynecologist before using during or after Pregnancy.

Dosage : 1 to 2 gm once or twice daily or as directed by physician.

Anupan: Dosage ratio of 70% Amla & 30% ginger can be :
1). Mixed with luke-warm water & taken orally. (useful in treating burning sensation in the chest)
2). Taken with honey for asthma/ heavy cough for improvement in respiratory treatment.
