3 KATU (Trikatu Churna)

Key Ingredient:  Soonthi, Marich, Pippali.

Effect on Dosha: V-, K-, P+           Vipak: Katu              Energy: warming

Action:  Stimulant, Reduces ama and gas formation, Improves metabolism. Helps in de-toxification of body and its efficacy increases when taken with 7vik Aatmashakti (triphala Churna).

Indication: Digestive respiratory system, asthma, cold & cough, arthritis, sciatica, reduces obesity, filariasis, reduces vata and swelling.

Usage:  If taken before food with Luke-warm water it increases appetite or if taken after food with buttermilk then promotes
digestion.

Caution:  Don’t use if one has high pitta, ulcer, bleeding, acidity, burning sensation. If taking diabetes medicines kindly consult your physician before taking them.

Dosage:  1 to 3 gm churna – as directed by physician.

Anupan: Can be taken with Luke wam water / buttermilk. “With Ghee in treating vata-related diseases.” Can be taken with Honey in treating kapha-related diseases.

Cough & cold / respiratory tract.
